Alessandro Biancalani

I am a scientific researcher and lecturer (associate professor) at the

Ecole Supérieure d'Ingénieurs Léonard de Vinci, Paris La Défense (France)

and Co-Head of the Research Axis 3, on "Complex Systems, Risks, Data Science and Digital Transformation", of the De Vinci Research Center


Qualifications

• Alma Mater: Scuola Normale Superiore, Pisa, Italy (graduated in 2005);

• PhD: University of Pisa, Pisa, Italy (obtained in 2010);

• HdR: Sorbonne University, Paris, France (obtained in 2019).


Scientific research

• My main interest is the theoretical investigation of waves and instabilities in magnetized plasmas, in particular in magnetic-confinement nuclear fusion devices.


Teaching

• I am the main responsible of the course of "Multiscale modeling and simulation" at the 5th year of the specialization on "Computational Modeling and Mechanics", and of the course of "Nuclear Energy" at the 4th year of the specialization on "Energy and Sustainable Cities".

• I give classes on exercises for the courses of "Fluid mechanics" (4th year).

• I am the coordinator of the Path on "Aerospace and Defense" (4th and 5th year) starting in Sep. 2024.
